My wife and I want to go to Thailand, spend a day or 2 in Bangkok, then travel to 1 of the islands for a few daya r & r then on to Cambodia or Laos to do some sightseeing, temples scenery local life.
We want to mix up between beach relaxation and mind blowing sightseeing.
Can anyone suggest an itinery or offer some insights into what to do and a s importantly what to avoid.
All replies welcomed.
Kind Regards
Colin & Mary

Hi Colin, Hi Mary,
Check out the TRIP PLANNER section on Travelfish to get some ideas of destination options and what looks good to you. There are suggested intineraries there too.
Also, do you know yet what time of year you'll be visiting, how long you'll have, and what your budget will be? That info will help others make meaningful suggestions on what to see and where to go.
To get you started, I'd recommend Ko Samet for your few days of beach R&R right after Bangkok. It is only a few hours bus ride from Bangkok, and quite lovely. Then it's an easy trip back to Bangkok to head on to places like Ayutthaya (for mind-blowing ancient temples) and points beyond.
Regards.
