I'll be heading to Koh Phangan on the 24th December for christmas day full moon party. All you guys that have been before, where is a reasonable place to stay, preferably for under 1000 baht per night, which allows "guests" without extra charges and close to where the full moon party takes place?
I'll be leaving on the 27th and want to book in advance. Then off to pattaya for new year!
Remember that Christmas is THE peak time & prices will be silly and also many places will have minimum stays. Its relatively easy to get around the island - so consider staying further away as you may be more likely to get somewhere.
Most of the accommodation on Koh Phangan are bungalows - so once you've paid - no body is too bothered how many sleep there. However the have been more guesthouse & motel style accommodation being built around Haad Rin where you pay for the room - so they may be a bit stricter.
It depends what you want from a holiday - but Koh Phangan is a lovely island - so its does seems a shame just to go there for 3 days.

If you want to stay close to the party , there is Haad Rin.
and mostly they will request you to book for 4 days as least.
