My wife & I will visting thailand by month end starting with 4 days at Koh Lipe. From there onwards, we are very keen on staying at Phra Nang Beach or railey west beach.
I couldn't find cheap & clean hotel (around 500 bhat, double with fan) on Phra Nang beach, specifically. Only star hotels available? Anybody got any clues.
If there isn't cheap accomodation on Phra nang, than I would prefer to stay on Railey west, any suggestions for the cheap hotels here?
What about local boats to island like Koh Poda or Chicken islands?? I can't afford a charter boat for the day & I can't travel in a boat that tells me, that you only have an hour to spend on this island?
Do these boats depart from Railey east or west or Phra nang beach?
Any idea about the costs?

Hi
I'm not sure about the hotel on Railey and what time/month you're traveling.
But about boat it's longtail boat you can catch it from there to Koh Poda, Koh Kai (Chicken islands), Koh Hong for this island take about 1 hours.

Railay accommodation (except Tonsai) is very expensive, yeah. I've never seen a place for 500 baht (that's budget even in Bangkok these days), but you might be able to find something on East tho probably not online... 500 baht might get you a super basic bungalow or something, if they have any. I really don't know, but last time I was there I saw almost nothing but 5 starish places. Railay is the most expensive place I've ever visited in Thailand.
Btw, West is like 5 minutes from Phra Nang, and so is East. It really doesn't matter much where you stay. http://railay.info/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/railay-map.jpg
Maybe check hostelworld dot com
Hope this helps.
