Hi posted this on trip advisor but most people feel the need on there to talk about which 4 or 5 star hotel they've stayed in rather than answer a simple question.
Id like to do a 2-3 day (Thai) massage course whilst there next month and would appreciate any comments/advice for where to go, costs(obviously) and how good they are.
Here's hoping.
Regards

Hi tricky,
Most of the "serious" (ie., accredited) massage courses run for at least five days rather than two to three -- if you really don't have the time to allow for a five-day course, you're probably better to try for a more casual approach -- ask at your guesthouse for pointers to an experienced masseuse who can do some casual tuition.
Here's links to some of the best known purveyors:
International Training Massage School
Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai
The Thai Massage School @ Old Medicine School
The last one has a three day foot massage course...

Man you should try the independent teachers network. It's on www.artofmassage.webs.com The teachers are absolutely great and it's dirt cheap plus the lessons are private and purely practical. No blah blah. I had 4h of private lesson for learning back massage and payed about 450baht. The teacher was wonderful person. If you really wanna learn it's the best place. Nothing fancy but pure hard-core quality. Hope I helped.
