Phuket doesn't have a train line and the train from Surat to Bangkok takes half a day not a mere 4-6 hours :-)

Also, the floating market is full of cheap junk aimed purely at tourists and at vastly inflated prices.

From Phuket to Bangkok, you can get a cheap flight on either Nokair.com or AirAsia.com. It only takes about 75 mins and the cost is minimal.

Imo that is a waste of time and money. 3 days isn't enough for anything other then 1 city so I would just go straight to Bangkok or Phuket not both.
