Best place to stay in Chiang Mai for a month?

Any advice? I'm taking a TEFL course there, and would love some recommendations....Preferably around $400, but I'd go up to $600 depending on the place and location. Thanks!

Check with Captain Bob here on Travelfish. He's got a cool place.

Do you know where the course will be held? Are you looking for just a room or something more? Does the school offer any housing placement assistance?

Sorry we don't do monthly rates, but there are plenty of others who do. Inside the old city most of them are near Thaphae Gate.
Google map here
Behind the M Hotel turn down Ratchademnoen Soi 1 there are several monthly guesthouses down there. Also near the AUA Language Center go up Ratchademnoen Soi 5 which turns into Ratchavithi Soi 2. Plenty of places offer monthly rates about 5-8000b/mo. especially in low season. Get here a week before your course starts to get situated.

Smith Residence is pretty cool, you can get rooms for 7,000thb per month.

Tell us more about yourself, what do you like to do. What kind of night life if any.
Are you more interested in meeting other travels or trying to integrate by making Thai friends

Where will you be doing your TEFL, at CMU or another place?

Tons of places can be had for $200-300, but it all depends on location.

Been here for 5+ years, give me more info and hopefully I can help you find a place close to your classes in an area you will love.
