Hey,
I'm still really strugglin to choose a good private beach resort for a couple over christmas. Price is not an option, the nicer the better. So far i've found Koh Kood Resort, but the website is under construction and ican't really tell if its good or not. Anyone know anything about koh kood or have any other suggestions?
Hi Brally stayed over that way last march.First stayed on the fairly busy koh chang, the got the boat down to koh mak, which is the way to koh kood.Stayed at koh mak resort for a week which was fantastic. Good food ,friendly people a/c bungalow on the beach for 1500 bth,own toilet shower etc.You can head to other places for dinner etc, where on koh kood there is a lot of all inclusive pkgs.hope this helps, ask away if you need more advice
Brally paid for the first four nights at the above resort then paid the balance when we settled up. You can book meals and drinks up as you go if you feel like it. We prefered to pay as we went. They even reduced the price for the bungalow seeing we had already stayed 4 nights. A couple of points, when we left early march they had booked out peak period of jan and most of feb. Also this is pretty quiet island there is no ATM here so we brought cash from Koh Chang. Security no problem at all. You can also hire motorbike for a couple of hours to go to village as small shop at resort is very limited and a bit pricey.Songthaews at night run till about 9pm so we found if you wanted to eat other side of island book taxi to pick you up about 9 then can have a drink at the bar or lovely pier at front of resort when you return. Also resort has great bar to watch sunset pre dinner. If you do run out of cash resort will do cash advance for major cards with 3.5% charge from memory,so pays to have cash. We only did this to pay for scuba diving one off thing. On the other side of island very upmarket bungalow we stayed for 2 nights called makathanee which also has the best chef on the island. There food was out of this world fantastic pad thai, tempura seafoods and whole fish. Well worth 1 night indulgence or go for dinner.Hope this helps any other quesions just ask regards swag

Wow, that sounds great. When you stayed for a week, was there a deal or did you pay nightly?
