hello.
i'll be visiting ko samui, phangan, and tao in august. should i book a hotel/hostel before i get there? or is it really easy to find a place as long as you have a beach in mind? thanks!

Find it when you get there - not difficult and probably cheaper.
Have fun

If you're really set on a particular spot and don't want to risk not being able to get what you want, then book it ahead. If you're more flexible and happy to do a bit of poking around to find what you like, then there's no need to book in advance.
Pricewise it varies, some are cheaper booked in advance, others, more expensive.

Hi there!
We are planning to move from narathiwat to surat thani and then to phangan and ko thao.
Do you know how are the trains and the boats timetable?
What it is easier?
thanks!

I agree with Paul123456789 - except if your arrive at one of these destinations is right after a long (12+hour flight) then I prefer to have a room waiting for the first night. After that - especially in the off season - do it on the fly. The freedom of no commitments adds to the experience IMHO

You should wait until you arrive. August is really not a busy month in Thailand as it is in the middle of the monsoon season. Shop around when you get to your destination as you don't want to commit to something that isn't quite how it looked on the internet or in a guide book.

thanks so much everyone! we're going to wait and see what we can find. we will be in bangkok for a few days before we head to the islands, so we won't be exhausted by long flights. thanks again!
