Take the buss to Bangkok. Take a mini buss from Victory Monument directly to the pier. Take the boat to Koh Chang. Take "taxi" to southern part of the island.
Fan bungalow on the beach cost 400 -500 bath. In "town" 200 -300.
There might be some damage to the beach bungalows from the recent storm. They don't seem to have internet at the moment so I havn't been able to find out how bad it was....

Koh Chang is very nice place, i hope you have good time there.
Lonely Beach is The backpacker village in this island and there is also very cheap bungalows. If you dont stay on beachbungalows prices are cheaper. Klong Prao and Kai Bae are also good choice for budget accommodation. Its same where you stay its easy get motorbike to explore best beached and other places
