Planning to go to thailand in last two weeks of august, where are the dryest areas to go?
Any first hand experience of august weather?
    Thanks

I've been end of Aug going into Sept on two occasions - both were fine. Did Bangkok then Koh Samui first time (only one afternoon of rain and that was in KS) second time did Bangkok, Koh Phangnan, Ko Tao, Bangkok. We had rain twice in Bangkok on that trip.
The rain is fine though - it was heavy but it was hot and its nice to just escape into a pub relax and watch the downpour!

Check out the animated Thai weather map. You can place your cursor over any province you think you might like to visit and it will give you typical rain statistics for each month. Remember that these are just averages, but it will help you plan.
