as per the title, im looking for advise on a place to visit for 3 days.

we start in patong for 3 nights, looking for somewhere for the next 3 nights, possibly koh lanta for 3 nights, moving onto ao nang for 3 nights and then flying up to bangers for the last 3 nights.

been to land of smiles plenty and travelled plenty but looking for somewhere new, possibly a small island with a nice beach. going end of august/start of sept. i know some of you will say 3 nights isnt enough but we find this to be great for what we want/do when there.

there's the possibility that we could go straight from patong beach to ao nang and then fly somewhere from krabi and then onto bangers

    any suggestions/advise welcome

    thanks and happy travelling

already been to phi phi a few yrs ago and wanted to try somewhere new.

    2 current possibilities/options:

opt 1: koh lanta but maybe looking for something more than a nice beech as already going to patong beach and ao nang

opt 2: chiang mai. fly straight up from krabi and spend a few days there b4 flying back down to bangers

never been to chiang mai and already heard amazing things about it. any advise on where to stay, areas of night life and things to do whilst there/must see's

    cheers

Well, Leonard, nice beaches or not, Phi Phi is hardly "new"! Someone who has been to Thailand "plenty" is about 99% likely to be aware of it.

How about the Klong Muang or TubKaak beach areas. They seem quite upmarket but there are several cheaper places to stay. The beach views are very nice and lack the crowds of the more well known Krabi destinations.

Alternatively, a boat from Phuket island to Koh Yao Yai takes about 30 minutes.

What are you planning to do in Ao Nang for three days? If you have not explored the region, in addition to day trips to Railay etc, perhaps you could extend that stay with visits to the Emerald pool, the hot springs or the Tiger Temple for non-beach days...

99% of Thai people have never been there.
How are we supposed to know where he's been? He hasn't been to Lanta which is well known.

CM is a smaller less interesting version of Bangers as you say. Chicks like CM. I guess they like the crappy night market, boring cooking courses and temples.
What do u want to do?
I found Trang to be well worth a visit. A couple of good tours, good food and Asahi jugs for 110 baht.

Yes nice beaches but I don't think they have any cheap places to stay. Very quiet area with little food options and nightlife though. Good spot for a couple. The ride from Ao Nang is a good one.
