Trekking Guide (and Location) in Northern Thailand

  • squong

    Hi,

I'm looking at going trekking in Northern Thailand and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a good location off the beaten path, and a good guide to take us there. I think Travelfish mentioned, Mae Hong Son, Pai or Soppong. I'm the type of traveler with the philosophy of the farther away from the tourist crowds, the better.

    Thanks in advance.

    Spencer

    Hi Spencer,

Some of the best trekking I've done in Thailand has been around Nan -- it's more caving and camping out than visiting 103 different tribes, but is spectacular.

It's best organised out of Bamboo Huts near Ban Toei
