Hi all, I need to travel the above trip early next year. Does anyone know if there is a direct bus from Nong Khai or is it better to get the train from Udon Thani to Phitsanulok then bus across to Sukothai. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi swag,
Train isn't a good option as you'll have to go via Bangkok. I'm not sure if there is a direct bus to Sukhothai, but there could be a bus to Phitsanulok, from where it is straightforward for a bus to Sukhothai. Otherwise, go south to Udon Thani from where I'm sure you'll be able to get a bus to Phitsanulok (and then Sukhothai)
