Gotta tell everyone about how good Lamai is. Last time we went to Chaweng & had a great time but it was too overdone. Lamai is Chaweng ten years ago I guess, Its got everything including great beaches, fantastic night life & good shopping. My boyfriend & I loved the girly bars around the Muy Thai boxing arena near to Macdonalds. The one in the far corner called "Good Luck bar" I think was great fun. It has drop dead gorgeous girls that are real friendly & I had a great time dancing with them on the pole. My boyfriend had a great time too!! Back next year for sure....

Wow - so you came all the way to Thailand, visited Lamai, danced with whores and your boyfriend had a great time. You are truly an inspiration.

That's a little harsh Stu. Besides, odds are this post was just an ad for the bar that they mentioned anyway.

Well I'm sorry you see it that way but the fact is we had great fun in Lamai. There are many good bars not just that one, it wasn't an ad I just thought I would give them a plug.
Why don't you try Lamai sometime Stu, maybe you might have a good time???

Cheers for the recommendation gogogirl, but I know too many quiet relaxing places that are still largely unknown to waste my time with Samui.
I went to Lamai and Chaweng eleven years ago and both places were fun but not really my scene so I haven't been back.

Not too far away actually, within the province of Surat Thani. Loads of beautiful spots that aren't mentioned in any guide books.
