Does anyone know if you can store luggage at any of the bangkok train stations or at the Airport? How much does it cost for about a 50 lb bag? Is it safe? We have been in China for the past 4 months so we have all our luggage that we need to take back to America with us after we are done in Thailand but we don't necissarly want to haul it around everywhere with us.

Hi Sunny,
You can store bags at both -- I'm not sure of costs, but it isn't much. I'll be at Bangkok airport tomorrow, so if I remember I'll check for you!

depending on where you stay and how long you'll be in thailand, some hotels have a storage room where you can leave your bags. i wouldn't expect this service from a khao san road property, but definitely from any of the more tourist-class places in town. this might save you a bit of money, but then again it might not be worth the extra hassle of lugging your bags into town then back out when you depart.

Ok, I just checked the rate at Don Muang airport, if you're storing your bags for less than 24 hours it is 90B per bag. For longer than 24hours, it is 45B per bag per day.
Ahh its good to be back in Bangkok!

Hi there,
I just want to check the luggage storage situation is the same a year after the last response?
Is Don Muang the new airport in Bangkok?? - I presume the luggage storage situation will be the same at the new airport?
Thanks for the help!

Hi candy,
The original question was about the old airport (Don Muang), but the new airport (Suvanabhumi) also has luggage storage facilities -- I'm not sure of the rates though --I'd assume they'd be similar.
That noted, the old airport is reopening this weekend -- I'd assume the old baggage facilities will reopen along with it.

Everyone - we just arrived in bangkok and stored our luggage at the new Suvanabhumi airport in their left luggage facility. It is called chubb i believe and is right by exit #4 behind the escalator. it is 100baht per item per 24hour period and you can leave your bags there up to 3 months! they will take your bags and xray them before they store, so don't leave any film in there that you want ruined.
overall the process is very easy and affordable. highly recommend.
you can also access a webpage on the main Suvanabhumi aiport website.

Hi!
I am going to be travelling to thailand in a few months, and then on to Oz. I plan to stay in thailand for about 2 weeks. I want to take my golf clubs with me for OZ but don't want to be carting them around, while I'm travelling in Thailand. Does anyone know how secure the airport luggage storage facility is or if there would be an alternative place where the golf clubs could be stored?
Thanks

Hi,
Perhaps leave them at your hotel in Bangkok if you're not comfortable leaving them at the airport. I've not heard any reports of stuff being nicked, but there's always a first time I guess.

I'm curious.. are there storage facilities like at the Bangkok airport in other airports as well? Such as at Krabi or Surat Thani?

hello there,
I was wondering if anyone knew if the storage facilities at airports were suitable to store a surf board as I bought one in Oz and am travelling round thailand before heading home. It is going to cost far too much to post so want to take it on the flight and hopefully store it at the airport.
thanks for any help
ben

Hi Ben,
Yes, you can store a surfboard at Bangkok's airports. Not sure about the upcountry ones.

For those of you who stumble on this post here is a link:

It tells you the things that you can't store with them. :)
