I'm wondering if anyone could recommend an island/s and or beaches for two women in their late twenties? We're looking for something that's an all night party pit but neither a family friendly locale with zero nightlife. Ideally, it would be something inbetween the two extremes. We'll also be there in August and we're leaning towards the East Coast, but could be persuaded to the West.
Thanks in Advance!
Belle

hi belle,
looking at the weather stats for that time of year, the gulf of thailand side is definitely where you'll want to be in august. each of the islands there (samui, tao, phangan) have lots of beaches with different personalties, so you should be able to wander a bit until you find exactly what you are looking for.
to help narrow that search, have a look at the Thai Islands section here and read up on the different beaches to see what appeals to you.
if you are willing to brave a little rain and are still thinking about the west coast, i've always thought krabi had a good mixture of quiet beach and nightlife.
in any case, i suspect two women in their late 20's will be able to relax and have a good time in any of those places. i hope that helps. cheers.

Thanks, Exacto. That was a big help and helps narrow the focus down considerably. Cheers!
