The main bus station to upcountry in Bangkok is called Morchit (or Mo Chit) It serves all major destinations in the North and Isan region. It is located in the north of Bangkok.

Ideally, you take a taxi to get there, as Mo Chit station are not within walking distance to the bus station itself.

No need to book in advance since bus is very frequent in Thailand and price is the same among the bus companies. But at least arrive early to find the counter and the bus stand.
