I am doing a long journey home from Korea to Canada in the fall. I am going to be heading through SE Asia, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Spain on the way back.
I was curious if anyone can give me some insight on booking an airline ticket to Istanbul from Bangkok. Is it better to book it in advance or when I get to Thailand? Can anyonr recommend a good BKK travel agent who could help me with this and some of the other tickets I need to arrange?
I used to make the Istanbul to Bangkok trip a few times a year. Your best options are the direct flight on Turkish Airlines (a very good airline), or taking Emirates (an excellent airline) with a stopover in Dubai. The flights all leave late at night, but the Emirates route might include a long layover in Dubai, so check the schedules to see.
I'm afraid I can't recommend a specific travel agent for you. But depending on how long you will be remaining in Thailand, and how flexible you are on when you fly to Istanbul, you might want to book ahead if you can for the flights. My experience is that they tend to get booked out in advance, so the farther ahead you are able to plan, the better off you will be. I hope that helps.
Have a great trip. You itinerary looks great. Cheers.
