Weather in Gulf of Thailand/ Ko Chang in June

  • dion1927

I've been out to Thailand for the past two years in June, and have learnt to avoid west of the country (rained all day every day for 4 consecutive days when I wasin Phi Phi) but that weather on Samui and Ko Pha Ngan is ok. Am due to go again next week, but want to see somewhere different. Coudl anyone tell me what it is is like on Ko Chang weather-wise? I mean, do I expect it to be like the west of thailand (i.e. days without seeing much sun) or is it more like Samui and Ko P. (i.e. heavy rain for just a few hours , usually in the evenings)??

Any tips on where might be sociable for a 30-something guy travelling on his own to Ko Chang for first time would also be massively appreciated!
    Tks

    Hi dion1927,

    Welcome to Travelfish!

You can see weather in Thailand at different times of the year with our interactive weather map. Unfortunately it should be POURING in Ko Chang in June (2ns wettest month of the year), so Samui, Pha Ngan and Tao should all be better bets... Or there's always Ko Samet...

Thanks for that. Was hoping to see somewhere different to Samui and Ko P. for a week. Samet might be ok as an idea, though I'd heard it was very quiet there. Shame about Ko Chang, would have liked to see the place.
