Body/Wax/Massage Treatment - Bangkok???

  • neo

    Hi Everyone,

Considering this website has been my homepage for quite a few weeks now, its needless to say Travelfish have done a great job.

I have pretty much planned all my trip for Thailand but am in need for some advice in seeking a medium (not cheap/unprofessional) budget massage/body/wax/etc treatment parlours in bangkok city area. I am going to be there in 2 weeks and am really looking forward to a relaxing holiday.

Can experienced travellers reccommend any websites, names where I could go to one and dont require bookings way in advance. I realise that lots of Hotels offer such services (including the one I am staying at) but would really would like to get an unbiased opinion/review.

    Much appreciated.

    Hi neo,

Welcome to Travelfish and gald to hear I'm not the only one who makes this my homepage ;-)

I'm just running off to pick up my better half from a two hour spa treatment (we're on Samui at the moment -- so many spas, so little time...) But, if you could give me an idea of how much you'd like to pay, I'll let you know which places she'd recommend in that price bracket.

    Hi somtam2000,

I am not looking to spend more than 3000/treatment or package. I do think it may cost for a 1/2 day package. I might/may have to get some treatments combined with my friends doing the same.

To be honest, I will be in Samui for considerable time so do not mind having a session there around chewang/bhoput etc.

I will take suggestions from both places on board and go accordingly.

    Thanks.

    Hi Neo,
You'll find alot of cheap massage, wax etc. parlours around Thanon Khao san and Soi Rambuttri in the Banglamphu area, well these are no Spa's but cheap and good.

Just like Umpijuntti says, there are lots of inexpensive places in the Soi Rambuttri and Khao San Road area. They aren't flash, but you get great value for your money. My wife had a fantastic oil massage in one place for 300 baht, and we saw others charging as little as 250 baht per hour. Several places offer the combo skin scrub, oil massage, sauna and milk bath for 400 or 500 baht - a fab deal and very relaxing.

By the way, any chance you'll be in Kanchanaburi? There is the Suan Nanachaat, an upscale massage and lifestyle retreat about 10 km out of town. They have a full range of spa services, including full day packages (5+ hours of pampering) starting at 2100 baht. Regards.
