Indian embassy is on Sukhumvit Soi 23, towards the end of the soi.

For a short break Ko Samet is good -- July is wet season, but Ko Samet stays pretty dry throughout.

Ko Samet is nearer Bangkok (about three and a half hours by bus) but it's a small island and ten days there might feel a little bit long.

Other options which might suit are the larger islands Ko Tao or Ko Pha Ngan. The weather should be OK there at that time of year too. Although they are further away from Bangkok you don't miss much beach time because you can travel there overnight on a sleeper train or a comfortable overnight bus.
