Is it worth going to the Naga Fireballs? We love a good festival! Can't find a place to stay IN TOWN as everywhere with email says they're booked. Nakon Khai Grand has rooms but says they're 45 km from festival. Will that work? Cheers.
I've not been myself, though having seen the fireballs on TV, the attraction is definitely the festival -- not the fireballs!
If you can't find anywhere to put you up, I'd suggest either Udon thani, which has stacks of places to stay, or Si Chiang Mai, which has few places to stay, but not many people go there.
