Hi everyone,
I've been attending a diving course and it is divided to the two parts. First part runs in a classroom and in a swimming pool in Prague and the second one can be finished on the island Koh Yao Yai in Thailand (Elixir

Resort). Has anyone ever been to this island? Which is the best connection between the Yao Yai island and Bangkok? Is it good choice weatherwise at the beginning of September?

yao is miles away from bangkok. you need to fly to krabi/phuket

Ruz, I've been to Yao Noi, and I'm researching Yao Yai for my next trip. I came across this site

Loh Jak Pier - Jian Warnit Pier [Car ferry] near Phuket town:
Depart 08:00 arrive 09:00(Except Friday)
Depart 15:00 arrive 15:50 (Except Friday)
Klong Hia Pier - Ban Rong Pier [Longtail] closer to Phuket airport:
Depart 07:00 arrive 07:50
Depart 10:00 arrive 10:50
Depart 13:00 arrive 13:50
Depart 15:00 arrive 15:50

They also show a departure TO Thalen pier on the Krabi side (quite a long way from Krabi airport) - no doubt there are arrivals too, or maybe the returning ferry terminates on nearby Yao and you have to get a longtail.

There is also a map of the ferry routes.

From Bangkok I'd come in thru Phuket - way more flights (Nok Air and Bangkok Air have cancelled Bangkok-Krabi) and more ferries plus piers easier to reach.
