Hi Travelfishers,
I will reiterate how much I love this site.
I love this site...a lot.
What is the latest boat from Koh Tao to Chumporn? I want to catch the overnight train to bangkok at 8:30pm. The latest boat I could find leaving Koh Tao was at 3:00.
I'd rather not spend to much time in Chumporn and was hoping there was a later boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you're on a 3pm boat from Ko Tao, allow 2-3 hours for the boat trip and another 30-45 minutes for transfer into Chumphon, that has you into Chumphon just 1.5 hours before the train -- that's about as close as I'd want to call it! -- boats can often run late when weather is bad.

when you say "transfer into chumphon" -- when you purchase the boat ride, is the transfer included, or do you have to purchase that separately from somewhere else??
The transfer into Chumphon is a nominal fee - its just a 10km songtheaw ride. Normally you buy the ticket when off the boat, though I think some include it -- best just to ask when you purchase the boat ticket.
