A good place to start is the visa and border crossings FAQ

Thailand and Cambodia you can get a visa at the border. Vietnam you will have to apply ahead of time but that can be done from any of the other two countries. I use American Passport Express before I go. You don't have to use their sevices but they are usually up to date on various requirements of all countries.

So easy, get Cambodian visa at border--bring 2 small 2x2 photos--I always make up a bunch of 2x2 face photos before I travel for border visas. Get Vietnam visa while in Cambodia--most guesthouses offer this service--do 2 days before departing--get it and go-Thailand--visa at border or airport--all 3 countries give you 30 days--Thai visa is free, Cambodia should be $20, but corrupt border agents ask for about $40 and Vietnam is a little over $30. If like the beach, be sure to hit Sihanoukville in Cambodia and Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. Take your choice in Thailand.--Good Luck and forget those expensive visa services in your own country.
