Hi, awesome website, has helped me out heaps with the planning of my trip. Quick question, i fly into Bangkok (suvarnabhumi)on the 4th of October about 8am and i am wanting to head to Vientiane (Laos) Asap. i was planning on flying to Udon Thani then bus to Nong Khai to wait for some friend for 2 nights then cross the border to Vientiane. The flight i was planning on taking is with nok air and leaves at around 12:30pm from don muang (domestic airport).
So i was wondering if 4.5 hours is enough time to exit the international airport and travel to don muang? and whats the best way to get between the two airports.
Im thinking it should be plenty of time but ive never been to Thailand so i dont know what travel times are like.
My other option would be to just fly straight to Laos (either Vientiane or Luang Prabang) but its seems to be a lot more expensive.
Cheers

Hi shunter,
Thanks -- glad you like the site.
Yes 4.5 hours should be enough to get from one to the other. The quickest way to get from one to the other is just to jump in a taxi, otherwise there's an airport bus that runs between the two terminals -- Bus #554 from memory, though I'd check that at the airport.

They were extending the skytrain towards the new airport the last time i went past it (Jan 2008). I wonder how much further towards completion this is. Will be good when the sky train goes to the airport.

to spend a little more less than 400 baht inclusive of toll fees(13USD) will get u from suvarnabhumi airport to donmuang in 30-45 mins or there is an express mini-bus shuttle beweeen this 2 airport cost around 80 and extra charge if u have luggages... but trust shouldn't take the bus, but instead choose between the shuttle service or most comfortable and gurantee for online to ckin of ur nxt flight then taxi is the best bet.

I land in the Suvarnabhumi Airport at 3:00 AM and am planning to take the Nok Air flight from Don Muang Airport at 6:00 AM. Please clarify if I will have sufficient time to clear immigration and collect baggage to check-in with Nok air in time?
