hi all,
my friend and i are arriving in Bangkok in september,we have 6 weeks in all and we are trying to plan our trip. all the help would be very much appriciated!we were thinking of maybe Bangkok to siem reap, then to phnom penh, then to saigon, then make way up to hanoi, then to Chang mai, then to ko samui,on to ko phi phi where we then have to make our way to singapore to fly to australia. is all this possible in 6 weeks, we are willing to get flights does anyone suggest on which leg to get the flights and where do we cross the border to get to siem reap and how...........flight wise we were thinkin of going from bangkok to siem reap then gettin a flight from hanoi to chang mai..... maybe we are doing too much in too little time, we were hoping of spending two weeks on the islands leg just relaxin ...and how long will it take to get from phi phi to singapore,
thank you in advance! (",)

That's a fair chunk to cover in 6-weeks.
For flights, look into the Discovery Airpass -- it's designed for just the type of trip you're plnaning. there's a story about the pass here.
As far as I know there are no direct flights from Chiang Mai to Hanoi.
It's probably also worthwhile taking a look at the Suggested Itinerary section.

Sorry, meant to add for border crossings -- eg to Siem Reap either see the Visa and border crossing FAQ, the Siem Reap section or, particularly for that crossing, see this story.
