I am having a hard time booking the flight from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang, Laos. Are you aware of any available flights? How far is it and how long does it take, if we take a train or a bus? We would prefer to fly, though.
Thank you for any advice.

...oddly enough I was looking at this today on the Laos Airline website http://www.laoairlines.com/
Looks pretty expensive (in comparison to other airlines in the area) at $162 one way ... this was for Oct 12th

Thank you for the message. It does not look like they fly every day. I tried for Oct. 1st and there were no flights!

Hi,
I decided to fly from Chiang Mai - Luang Prabang instead of taking the slow boat journey 9 (3 days). I did this last April 2007. It cost me $85 including all taxes. I think it has become a popular option hence the price increase and lack of availability.

Hi - just got a 2 for 1 special about 205 USD total from chiang mai to luang prabang on lao airlines. they have an office in chiang mai where you can pick up ticket. you have to pay in baht (was around 7100). they fly tuesday, thursday, sat/sun i think. may also email for reservations, email isted on website.
