Hey guys, hope everyones happy today! I was just wondering if anyone could let me know how long i should allow for this journey? I won't be in any hurry but a rough idea would be nice... I was thinking about getting the train rather then the bus for the trip to Suri Thani as it's suppose to be a more comfortable trip, any comments? Also a ball park figure for a price would help?
I'm demanding today, he he!
Thanks in advance for any help or comments. Peace and love, Danny J

The 10:50pm train from Bangkok's Hualampong station arrives in Suratthani around 8:30 am. Depending on how you're going to get to Ko Pha Ngan from the train station, travel time can vary from 3-6 hours.
I took this route last May, though my destination was Ko Samui, instead of Pha Ngan. I booked my train+bus+ferry tickets through an agent in Bangkok (http://www.travelconnecxion.com/index.cfm?menuid=372) including the 250 processing fee for the agent, I paid a total of THB928. I arrived in Ko Samui around 2pm. The bus, from the train station had to stop for an hour to wait for additional passengers.
You can also go via Chumporn and take the Lomprayah ferry from there to Pha Ngan. I took this route coming back to Bangkok from Pha Ngan and found this more enjoyable.
