Hi Guys,
Can someone tell me which train I need to catch and where from to get to Bangkok from Phuket and from Bangkok to Chaing Mai after that by train (maybe overnight train or during the day...doesnt matter)?
Any info would help, such as fares, location of train station, safety?
Many, many thanks.
B.

You can find out train numbers, schedules, and fares at this site ...

You'll need to go over to Surat Thani to catch the train north to Bangkok. And then for Chiangmai you would leave from Hualomphong. This is the same place that you will arrive from Surat Thani in. It's Bangkok's central train station.
You can also find great info, photos, and options here ...
