Does anyone know of a reasonable place near the airport for the last night on Phuket? I have a 0905 departure to BKK the following day. Or is getting to the airport a big deal in the mornings from anywhere on the island?

I have been looking for the same thing - one I saw recommended was:
PHUKET AIRPORT HOTEL
http://www.phuketairporthotel.com/
I think they have an airport drop-off for 100baht.

I don't really think getting to the airport is a big deal. There is an airport bus from the bus station in Phuket town for budget travellers and heaps of private cars hanging around accommodation at the beaches who will take you for 500-600.
The main hassle is time - it's a good 35-40 km from the popular beaches so you are looking at 40m+ depending on traffic.
I wouldn't shift hotels from the beaches for one night - hassle saved not worth it.
In my case I'll be flying in from Samui and out to Australia next day.

Thanks for the info...I will be staying in Phang Nga for a few days and will come back to Phuket for the last night. So right now, haven't made any plans for that. Again thank you for the info. trex
