Taling Ngam Beach gets a good write up on here. Wodnering if anyone has been there? Have been to Samui before but not the west coast.

we spent a day exploring that area on our last trip to samui and definitely enjoyed it. most of it was on nearly deserted, secondary roads. had a few good but inexpensive meals at charming, bamboo hut-style mom and pop restaurant shacks. the beaches were narrow (sometimes only a few meters) strips of sand with no waves to speak of.
even if you don't stay over in that area, samui isn't all that big and you can easily make a full round trip of the island in one day on a motor scooter. we found lots of fun little out-of-the-way places while out exploring. one day we went clockwise and the other counter clockwise. great fun.
