Several recent threads about the welfare of tigers and elephants and other animals makes me want to mention an animal welfare group in Bangkok called Soi Cats and Dogs -SCAD (formerly Soi Dogs Rescue) .
It's a non-profit group with a mission of animal birth control, education, adoption, and just generally trying to reduce the suffering of the City of Angel's stray animal population.
"Amidst the splendour of Bangkok's temples and on its busy streets, thousands of stray cats and dogs endure a miserable existence. Their plight is largely ignored. At SCAD we aim to change that."
