Ok, here is what Im looking at...
Koh Samui - maybe hire a motor bike to ride around the island for a little sight of culture.
Koh Phangan - Full Moon party, beautifl base where i cna get to even better beaches/day trips. Also heard its not so good anymore?
Koh Tao - heard there are beautiful beaces and island tours here?
Krabi - donmt know too much, heard its worth going to and a good base?
Phuket - loved patong for a little hussle and bussle maybe at the end of my trip insetad of it ALL being deserted beaches and relaxation.
Trang - heard this is paradise???
I only have two weeks and dont wnat to rush around so I know I obviously need to cut out some of these places.
Im looking for a couple of nights to party, not too hard though.
Cutlture, Good food, a few massges, a little trekking with a nice waterfall, an elephant trek, day tours to semi untouched islands.
And MOST IMPORTANTLY... I wnat to totally relax on a hammack with a drink in PARADISE... White sand, crystal clear blue water... where do I go?? ifd like most of my trip to be like this but still being able to access things if i get bored.
Id like to base myself somewhere nice instead of basing msyelf somewhere ordinary doing day tours, id still like my base to be beautiful also.
Any tips, reccomendatiosn etc etc
Will be staying in beach huts, backpacker style, going in Jan/Feb

Just pick one side of the gulf.
The western side is better for scenary and day trips.
eastern side
KPN - some nice beaches but not much to do.
Samui - nice beaches, more things to do but overdeveloped and a bit expensive
tao - for diving
western side
krabi - lots of daytrips and good scenary
trang islands - good for snorkelling trips, not much nightlife
phi phi - good snorkelling, some rather tacky nightlife
phuket - ok but too big to explore on a small bike
where are you flying out of? if it's krabi i'd skip phuket altogether.

Sounds like your tleling me the western side is better??? I just wnat to find a beautiful beacha nd lay on a hammack and totally relax but id still like to be close to things to do.
Im doing a tour in vietnam then going to bangkok then getting the night train from bangkok down to Surat thani then I was going to get a ferry over to samui becasue thats the side im leaning towards but if Karbi and the islands on that side are better maybe I should do that side instead, ohhh im so confused.

Samui has good beaches so you can do nothing but still have things to do.
But hey you can do that at railay/tonsai as well.
Thailand is good whichever side you go.
