Hello
I'm looking for some advice on getting a same-day connecting flight out of Bangkok....
My partner and I have 2 weeks coming up in Thailand. We're spending our first 5 days on Ko Lanta and are just booking up our internal flights to get to Krabi for the ferry there.
We land in Suvarnabhumi at 06.55 in the morning after a connection in Abu Dhabi. We then want to fly to Krabi at 13.50 from Don Muang airport (Option A) Is 6 hours enough time to get our bags and get on the connecting flight?
Our worry is that if our flight was delayed too much we'd lose the money for the connecting flight, our first night's stay in Krabi. Does anyone know how reliable the flights from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok are?
So... the sensible option B would be to book a night in Bangkok for the day we land but we've both seen Bangkok before and we don't have long on Ko Lanta so we're keen to get down there.
There is also an internal flight we could get at 17.00 on the day we land (10 hours after) but this might be too late to arrive on Ko Lanta, and we don't fancy killing 10 hours between airports in Bangkok if everything goes smoothly. However, this is a possible option C.
If anyone has any experience with any of these routes or connecting flights on the same day between airports in Bangkok then any advice would be much much appreciated!
Many thanks
Katie
