Hey there,
I'm planning to return back to Thailand after the Gibon experience. The van from the experience returns to Huay Xai around 1400. What is the best way to get to Chiang Rai, or, ideally Chiang Mai in the same day?
Thank you for responses.
k

take the boat over to chiang kong from huy xai which will only take 10 minutes. From chaing khong you can take a direct bus to chaing mai. However i heard thaqt if you take the bus to chaing rai (3 hours) and then chang onto a bus to chaing mai its a little quicker. we are going to do the same trip in reverse in. Total bus travel time is aroung 5 hours so ive been told. As you are arriving at 14.00, dont know if you will make it all the way to chaing mai, however chaing rai should be no problem. Enquire in chaing kong.
