I'm a wee bit busy volunteering at the mo and my indecisiveness is being increased in the heat I'm sure, so I need some help in planning a week down south.
I'm planning on going down South for my last week of my 16 month trip and I'm not really sure where to go. I want beautiful beaches, amazing sunsets, a bungalow with a hammock & some other stuff to do i.e. snorkelling, maybe some hiking. Chilled out and not super busy, but a few people around for some fun too. Backpacker budget applies. My main concern is the weather; As I only have a week I don't want it to be a wash out. Does anyone know what the weather will be doing on the East and the West sides? (besides being scorching!).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I answered this question on another site. For other people who are interested in similar info -

Look, March is usually no problems weather wise anywhere on the coast. Sure you will get the odd storm, but sunshine dominates and no place is normally to be avoided. It's my favourte time to visit because the weather is good and yet shoulder season means fewer crowds, lower prices in most areas.
So many places fit your description. Maybe you could check the LAID BACK and WAY LAID BACK sections of my WHICH ISLAND OR BEACH page first link below + the SNORKELLING PAGE to see what floats your boat. Keep in mind you need a west facing beach for amazing sunsets.

Okay, to narrow thing down, the places have all of these - Ko Adang, Ko Tarutao, Porn at Lipe, Paradise Resort at Ngai (may not be too many people around), south west beaches on Tao, Mae Hat (Haad Mae) on Phangan.
3 islands would be great except the snorkelling aint hot - Phayam, little Chang Andaman side and Jum.
