Well it looks like we have finally decided on going to Ko Samui for 2-4 days on the last leg of our trip to Thailand in January.
Now I would like to ask is there one place that is nicer than another there, or is it all great.Should we stay on the north part of the island or go east or west. I think we will give the south a miss only because of the time factor.
Thank you

hi red!
it depends on you, what you like. if you want trouble and nightlife, party and lots of people, go to chaweng or lamai. if you like it quiet and a beautyful beach, go to maenam beach. i stay there, when i have hollidays and i enjoy every day there. for nightlife you can go to chaweng also by songthaew or rent a motorbike.

if you are not into parties and crowds-mae nam is a place to go! the eastern end is nicer and quieter than the rest, a bit cheaper as well. moon hut, friendly bungalow, star hut, sea view-to name a few-they all are inexpensive and o.k. another option is the far-south,or the island off the southcoast: koh kaen. the only drag in mae nam is the sea. no clear water. it´s not really dirty, but.......

Thank you all we have booked into "Moonhut Bungalow" for 4 night over January. We're not really worried about the clarity of the water we can always hire a motorbike and just go to where the water is clearer.
Thanks again everyone. :)
