I am a bit of a novice traveller and am a little concerned about my connecting flight to samui. I have 55 minutes to get off at Bangkok and get to the next flight. I have heard that you have to reclaim your baggage is this true? if so, i am well and truly stuffed as mine is always the last bag on the carousel!
You're flying in on an international flight and want to transfer to a BKK Airways flight in 55 minutes -- I'd guess you'd need to be extremely lucky to make that connection

If it's Thai Airways, they are so much better than the cheap flights like Air Asia, etc...If you miss your connecting flight, they will reschedule you w/out hassles. The new BKK Sub. airport is easy to navigate, still if you're coming in from Intl' flight, you do have to claim luggages & go through customs and recheck at their counter. Call and ask Thai Airways, they have very good customer services. 55 mins. is a little tight time, that if Thai Airways is not arriving late.

Thanks for the replies, for anyones future reference, I have been assured by the airline that it is ok as it's a "through ticket" which apparently means the luggage will (hopefully!) be automatically transferred to the next flight. All I have to worry about now is whether I am going to be as unlucky as I was last time and get mixed up in all the protest probs!(I was stranded there for an extra two weeks!!)

Really? Does it make a difference if they are both with Thai airways?

I'm surprised the airline computer actually lets you make that connection!
