Hi,
We are thinking of booking the
Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok.
Address 333 Charoennakorn Road, Klongsan.
It is the other side of the river and I am wondering if it is too inconvenient to get to places like Khoa San Road etc especially after a few beers on the way home!
Could someone let me know if it is far away as I am having trouble figuring out.
Many thanks

It's quite far away from KSR (but that's not always a bad thing.) It's okay in the daytime when the water taxis are running, but after sundown you will be in for quite a hike if you plan on walking. But by taxi, no problem.
It's an interesting area, especially as you get away from the river towards Wong Wien Yai Station.

Thanks Tilapia.
Well it's our honeymoon so we want to stay in a nice place but we don't want to spend all our time there as what's the point in being in Bangkok if you do that.
We wouldn't be walking, we'd get Tuk Tuks / taxis but I don't know the distance and if you ask a driver that your going to the Peninsula, it will probably take a while to get a realistic price.
Thanks for your help do you know how far roughly?

Hi Brinner,
You won't have to negotiate prices for the taxis. The overwhelming majority of taxis are metered, so there's no messing around with the price.
During the daytime you should use the Chao Phraya River Boat for getting around as much as possible.
Tuk tuks require price negotiations. Ask your hotel front desk person, or door person, about what it should cost to get from Point A to Point B before you tackle one of those wily tuk tuk drivers, and don't ever fall for one of the "Anywhere in Bangkok for 10 baht" promises.
You'll be about 8km from Banglamphoo, where KSR is.
