I am planning to travel to Chiang Mai this November for the Loy Krathong/ Yin Peng festival. Where is a better area to stay - the Old Town or near the river? I want to be able to enjoy the activities of the festival as well as be within walking distance from the Night Bazaar and Sunday Walking Street. Advice and recommendations are MUCH MUCH appreciated. Thank you.

oshun Why don't YOU go look at a map of Chiang Mai. Put your finger on the Sunday walking street (Th Ratchadamnoen) and look at the number of GH's just north of that street (either side of the moat). I suggest that's where you'll get good value and be centrally located. Go look at the accommodation here on Travelfish for what suits you. Cheers
