Hi,
Thanks for your help in planning our trip. We are in Thailand right now and are heading to the south tomorrow. Does anyone know the current bus schedule from Surat Thani to Krabi? We will be taking a boat from Ko Tao and would love to get all the way to Krabi in one day. Are there buses in the afternoon after the boat arrives from Ko Tao to Surat Thani (about noon, I think)?
Also, we are trying to decide how much time to spend on the west side when we are in the islands and wondered if anyone has any current insight on the weather over the upcoming week in Krabi, Ko Phi Phi, Railay, etc.? Is there excessive rain or is not too bad?
Thanks for your help.

We've got a researcher in Raileh and Krabi area at the moment and he reports some rain, but not ridiculous amounts.

I have just spent a week on Koh Lanta and it was lovely, it didn't even rain. Two friends and I booked our first nights via the internet and the 'resort' was pretty tacky, loads of rubbish on the beach. We then found Kantiang Bay and stayed at a great set of bungalows there. The bay was beautiful, nice beach, great swimming, great food and friendly staff. The water was a little cloudy, but that is what you should expect at this time of year. Not for those looking for a big party, but good for those who want a relatively peaceful place to hang out for a few days with a few other people around to chat to or share a beer with. Many other travellers did the '4 Island Tour' and came back with good reports.
