look for folks heading to Laos - sell them the kip

Chrispy's suggestion is a good one, because generally speaking Lao Kip are totally worthless outside of Laos. they are not traded internationally.

As you are Australian, if you don't get to sell/exchange, there is another option.

Go to the Money forum post, and make a post saying what you have to exchange (and the rate you want).

If when you return to Oz, update to that fact (and place) and someone going there may well relieve you of same.

    Cheers

As one of the old Travelfish tshirts read:

    "Baht to kip -- ok
Kip to baht -- no way"

As per other suggestions, look for other travellers to swap it with, plan another trip to Laos, or look for a wall at home that needs wallpapering.
