Saw an article on Asia Web Direct that Suan Lum Night Market has closed down since April 2006. Is this true? Was thinking of heading there for some street shopping.
Can someone let me know if this is true? If this is true can anyone recommend some good night market around Bangkok area. Appreciate all the responds I can get.

Hi Kkswan,
Yes it's still there. I was there 03rd July '09. Another good market is in Patpong.

Just my opinion but I think Patpong is a ripoff.

Suan Lum is fun night out--good, cheap food, icy draft beer and mediocre Thai rock bands in the beer garden; everything from cheap tourist crap to quality arts/crafts/etc, even massage on offer; a good mix of locals and visitors. Patpong can also be fun for people watching and a streetside beer or two, but not so great for the shopping, much better wares and prices to be had at Suan Lum, even better at Chatuchak.
