Can someone please tell me where abouts in relation to the old Bangkok airport is to the new one is. I have tried to search on the internet but haven't had any luck trying to find how far they are from each other.
I have read that the new one will be open around the 15th September.
Will domestic airlines also depart from here?

The smart people over at 2Bangkok.com have created a stack of info on the new airport that is far more useful than anything the airport put out. You can see all that info here.
Both domestic and international flights will (in theory) operate from the new airport.

far away- approx. 30 ks out of b.k.k. to the east, as far as i know. this means getting in to b.k.k. will cost us some extra money.

I've found it is about 30/40 klms away, and yes extra money, but we will change our accomodation to suit the new airport.
