    Hi All,

it's bee a while since i've been on - had a wedding to plan! - but am now onto the 'honeymoon' (albeit 4 months after the actual wedding!). So, we arrive in Bangkok on the evening of the 12th of December and want to do a little travellig around for a week or so before heading down to the islands. I'm not sure that i want us to hot foot-it up to Chang Mai to then travel all the way down to Trang over-land, ad we're trying to save cash by not flying.

We really enjoyed using the trains last year, and were thinking of having a little chung-a-chung along some pretty lines, maybe to one of the national parks, but thats really were inspiration fails us - so any ideas?

We did Ayutyhaya and Kanchanaburi last year, and wanted nature rather than ruins this time round...

Island itinerary will look something like this - Ko Sukorn, Ko Libong, Ko Kradan and then possibly Ko Ngai or Ko Muk. Does anyone have any hints and tips on these islands? Secret places to stay where we wont get hit with the 'gala dinner' business over xmas and new year? We tend to like backpacker places which aren't toooo basic, but dont mind cold water, fans etc.

Any and all suggestions, as ever, very gratefully received!
    Alex

Oh, and any advice on moped hire on the islands mentioned above (whether its possible / worth it etc) would be really great. New husbadhas pretentions of grandeur and imagines himself the head of a motocycle gang. He just loved it so much last year ad felt liek the king of the road pottling along at 10 miles an hour on Ko Mak!

    Thanks again

Me again - i cant work out how to edit my own posts!

We've done a little more investigation and think we may travel up to Lop Buri for a night and then start heading south and stopping at lots of places along the way. I've looking through the information on here, but personal recommendations would be great.

We're also not 100% certian of the islands that we will visit - we want to keep travelling on boats down to a minimum due to the cost! Dave wants to dive, but we definately like more off the beaten track places. We absolutely loved Ko Mak, for example, last year - if we could identify a couple of islands with that feel and 'business' (or lack of!) we'd be really happy.

    Cheers!
