Hi there, I'm quite new to Thailand and am looking for some suggestions as to where to take my girlfriend on vacation.
I'm looking for any suggestions for any beach or Island that you've enjoyed around the south of Thailand that will fit these criteria:
Location- Southern Thailand
Date: Around November 25th for one week
Budget- 1500-2000Baht a night. Will pay less obviously but want something nice.
Accommodation- Looking for a bungalow or room with A/c, hot water. Very close to white sand beaches with privacy.
I've been looking at Railay Beach but everything around the level I'm looking for seems to be around 100US$ a night, or else is a 20 min jungle walk away.
ANY help or suggestions would be REALLY appreciated, I'm feeling kindof lost in the many many choices available. I'm sure this question has been asked before but I'm traveling Cambodia without my g/f now and have very limited time to search through the forums.
Thanks you again.
Thanks so much

Hi,
Unfortunately MOST rooms with those specs in the locations you require will be quite expensive at that time of the year.
Not to mention places like Railey (or Phi Phi etc) will be quite crowded and overpriced compared to other destinations at that time of the year.
Maybe try one of the Trang islands?
seem to get less tourists which will help with privacy and nicer "white sand" beaches.

Google Mountain Resort Ko Lipe to see whether their aircon hot water bungalows fit into your budget.
Some other possibilities:
White Sand Resort big Ko Chang
Tubtim and Pudsa Resorts Ko Samet
Relax Bay Ko Phi Phi
Lanta Palm Beach Ko Lanta
Benjamins - Kamala Beach Phuket
Libong Beach Resort Ko Libong
+ quite a few on Samui, PHangan and Tao but late Nov weather can be a bit iffy there.

Thanks a lot everyone! I've decided to go with Ko Sukorn and the beach bungalow resorts. The beaches may lack a little but the rest seems perfect!
All the help was appreciated^^

I really enjoyed my stay on Sukorn. One of the more relaxed islands, friendly locals, a handful on nice resorts and a really nice rural landscape to explore.
