Hi all,
Planning on travelling to thailand at end of october for 5 months,
However not sure how much spending money i'll need?
Don't mind roughing it, the more basic, the better.
Also hoping to visit singapore & cambodia for 1 or 2 weeks each.
Check this helpful website out:

I reckon you'll find Singapore to be mega expensive compared to the rest of SEA, just a basic lifestyle could well set you back around US$35 to $40 per day.

Hi brann!
Steviej is right; Singapore can be quite expensive, specially if you compare it with its neighboring Asian countries. However, there are still some cheap thrills to be found in the island like great food at hawker stalls and free events at the Esplanade.
I can't tell you how much you'd need exactly, but I can share with you my expenses during my trip to Thailand and Singapore last May.

I have a summary in the site, and a detailed excel file available for download.

hi brann
let´s work it out, in cheap charlie style: a basic room will cost you something in between 100 to 200 baht in thailand, about 2 dollar in cambodia. 3 basic meals a day 150 to 200 baht-3 to 5 bucks in cambodia. ziggies and booze cost extra money. transport depends on route and comfort. bungalows, no frills and simple, depend on the location. cheapest choice is probably koh phangan, you can get a hut for 200 b.,the same goes for mea nam in koh samui. skip singapore-too expensive.
keep on truckin´
regards-hope this helps a bit
And for Cambodia, take lots of U$. More than you think you'll need. The same goes for Burma. If you decide to go there, make sure you go with a good stash of U$. These places aren't expensive, but all the small expenses add up quickly. You can easily $2 and $5 yourself into being broke.
