Hi there,
We will be attending the Full Moon party in December 2009. Thing is we are looking at booking accommodation (budget style) but having difficulty finding budget options. Can anyone advise on sea-front bungalow accommodation (not too close to the main FMP beach)which is relatively cheap and where we would not have to book a minimum of say 5 nights as our time on the island is limited.
Our other option is to rather stay on Koh Tao and ferry it across for the party - but also a bit weiry on how many people they load on the boats...
Your thoughts to this please.
Thank you.

Anything that can be booked online for that period is pretty much gone now -- especially at the budget end.
Give the following story a read for more suggestions on what to do as commuting from Ko Tao isn't a hot idea -- Mae Nam on Ko Samui will be a better bet.
Should I reserve a room for the full moon party?

For reservations over new years, at a glance, the only places bookable through Sawasdee are (I'm linking straight to their Sawasdee pages as we don't list all of these):
Salad Beach Resort new Years
Noren Resort (Christmas, not sure about NYs)
Lucky Resort New Years
Royal Orchid Resort New Years
Pha Ngan Cabana New Years
Central Cottage
Of those Salad Beach is the only one I'd describe as noteworthy...
Hope that helps

Could try Googling Lighthouse near Leela Beach, back of Hat Rin. Dunno if they have a multi-day stipulation.
