Hi, is it cool at night in Chiang Mai? I'm wondering if a fan room is ok or not. Thanks.

Hi waterwater,
Welcome to Travelfish.
You didn't say what time of the year you're going to Chiang Mai, so not sure what advice to give. In hot season, go for aircon, but in cool season, a fan room would be fine.

I'm going there early in March, around 9th or 10th next month. Thanks.

i almost always go with a fan room instead of an aircon room anywhere in thailand any time of the year, particularly in chiang mai. temps will be heating up that time of year, but nothing like in bangkok or kanchanaburi or other hotter places. if you aren't particularly sensitive to heat, then you should be fine with a fan room, but if you like it to be a bit cooler in your room when you sleep, then take somtam's advice and pay the extra money for the aircon. hope that helps. cheers.
